Dave has always been a human noise maker. The CD only contains a few of these noises specific to animals. He began playing didjeridu in 1995 and quickly learned from everyone he could run into during his summer breaks. Finding the largest concentration of players in Portland and San Francisco, he set out on a didjeridu pilgrimage up the American West coast. This trip has now become tradition, and Dave hasn't missed at least the Oregon section since '96. He is a guest musician on 10 or more CDs, but this is the first one that features Dave on every song! Cameron is an accomplished musician and founder of the long-time Boulder-based band Sherefè. These are his preferred instruments: Oud, Bouzouki, Guitar, Vocals. Assuming "you are what you eat" translates into "you are what you play," Cameron Powers has been nurturing his Middle Eastern soul for the last 30 years or so... Well, since he embarked on his first Mediterranean adventure by falling in love with a Greek woman... It was while living in Greece in 1973 that he first got the scales and rhythms pounded into him: Dum da da Dum da da Dum da da Dum Dah Dah... (that's kamelieriko)... Then it was those pesky Belly Dancers who led him further astray into the voluptuous rhythms and melodies of Egypt... Gee, they were hard to play on the guitar... Guess I'll have to tackle the oud... The oud is fretless and marvelously traditional (over there in Arabic and Turkish worlds)... Here in America they say: "What's that called? Oh, that's interesting..." So helplessly trapped between two worlds, Cameron thrives on Mexican food and the soft feminine curves of the Music of the Middle East... Cameron's trip "peace mission" to the mid-east passing through first Jordan, Iraq, Syria, West Bank, Gaza, & then Egypt. Here's a newspaper story about it: Boulder Weekly |

Justin occasionally plays Sitar with Sherefè, thus we found him through Cameron. He is being cagey and mute at present. Though we'll continue to harangue him for info... };-D |
